A project I am meaning to undertake this fall and winter is to go through all my old photos (starting back in 2003, when I got my first camera) and make a selection of photo's to print. After all, isn't that what photography is about, recording memories for posterity? Okay, that may be putting it dramatically. But having a bunch of enormous files with umpteen versions of the same photo to find just the right framing aren't exactly handy to flick through in search of some happy memories or a few images to illustrate a story from the old days. Hence, project 'selection & cleanup'. I'll be posting some of the old photos as I go through them.
Going through my old photo's randomly a few days ago, I bumped into this one, taken in Berlin in January 2009.
A Berlin metro station is colored hot pink by musical bulletins announcing Dirty Dancing, The Musical. I was shocked by all the pink - I guess that's why they call it shocking pink - or is that just me? The commuters, however, don't appear to let it bother them.
Yay, you're back! I'm all for project 'selection & cleanup'. I did my selection & cleanup two years ago, when I got my MacBook that has that handy iPhoto app to organize and store pictures. But I was lazy and didn't do all of them, so I still have one huge project to sort through (Erasmus exchange, so lots of pictures!)
ReplyDeleteYou could also do some photo books. I have about ten of them and I go through them often. It's a great way to show your holiday pictures to guests at dinner parties!
