About Me

I hesitate to call myself an amateur photographer, because my amateur photographer friends are way better at taking pictures than me. (Check out the links section to see what amazing things they can do!) Instead, let me just say that I like seeing the world through a lens from time to time, and going beyond the simple point and-shoot for the family photo album.

I work with a Sony DSC-H10 bridge camera. It has a few features than go beyond what most simple point-and-shoot cameras have, such as an excellent 10x optical zoom, a good Carl-Zeiss lens (I don't dare go into the specifics) and a limited manual setting. What I love most about it is its portability: it is not much bigger than what a simple point-and-shoot was a few years ago, allowing me to carry it with me almost all the time. One my of photographer friends once told me "The most beautiful pictures are taken with the camera you have with you." Truth!

A few weeks ago, I acquired the wide-angle conversion lens, which I add on top of the existing lens for easier shooting inside small spaces. It makes my camera look funny because the lense is bigger than the body, but I am sure I will have great fun with this new toy.
