Train


I like to think I sort of specialize in train landscape photography. Taking photographs from a train is not so much a matter of getting the framing and lighting exactly right. It's about spotting a beautiful sight, then pulling out your camera as fast as possible to get the shot before it's gone. It's cowboy style photography. No rules, just speed. And then grinning when you get a nice picture, like getting a prize you didn't expect to win.

On track


This picture was taken in October 2009 on the train from Rotterdam to Brussels. I was making random pics of the sunset landscape from the train window. Only later did I notice that a fellow passenger was hiding in the shadows, staring out at same sights as me. A penny for his thoughts.
