Sips & signs

Today I went to the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies building at Georgia State University for the first time. I had a wonderful meeting with professor Stephan, who is a very lively and lovely woman.

In the morning, I walked all the way to downtown, but found it's quite a walk from my current apartment. So in the evening I took the MARTA, Atlanta's metro, to get home again. My MARTA stop is located right around the block of the Fox Theatre, one of Altanta's oldest venues.
(If I'm not mistaken, Gone With the Wind premiered here).

Spring is well underway here, and I decided to enjoy the last rays of sun in the building's back yard, with a sip of beer and a book.

Since the Americans are so enthusiastic about Belgian beers, I think the least I owe them is some curiosity for their beers in return. I picked up a six pack of this beer called Terrapin, because it is brewed in Athens, Georgia. Not bad! Reminds me a bit of blonde Leffe. And I sorta wanna pinch that old turtle's cheeck.

If often wonder if Americans realize that their signs are funny, and if they intend them to be or not. Poop? Scoop? Come on! You have got to be kidding. Literally!

Although the guy in the supermarket who carded me when I bought the beer apparently wasn't kidding.
Oops.
Although he smiled when I told him I was European (and thus not used to being carded, especially at my age).
:-)

  2. The Catcher in the Rye leest heel vlot - het is basically ook gewoon de stream of consciousness van het hoofdpersonage. :-)
