Unexpectedly, Madrid

Unexpectedly, because we were simply to catch a connecting flight to Rio in Madrid. `Simply` was the tricky part: due to fog in Madrid, our flight from Brussels was delayed by two hours, but magically the flight to Rio left on time, and therefore without us. The best Iberia could was rebook us on the next day`s flight. We didn`t complain because people to other destinations were being rebooked for even later dates. So unexpectedly, we spent a few hours in downtown Madrid, after getting through the time-consuming red tape of getting our flight rebooked and checking into a hotel.

to shoot or not to shoot the sparkly goat with my bubble gun,
that is the question

Mercado San Miguel

a glass of wine and an appetizer can´t hurt when you´ve had the day we had

For those who are wondering: in the meantime the boyfriend and I have made it to Rio. Pictures of Brazil will follow soon! But first, I got a plane to the Amazon to catch. I just found out that Manaus is in a different timezone than Rio... so what was supposed to be a short 2-hour flight, just turned into a 4-hour journey. Great. (not)
