House of Go(l)d

Not a fantastic or surprising picture to kick off my photography blog with, but I did pat myself on the shoulder for coming up with the title. I took this picture because the setting sun was casting gold reflections off the St.Pieter Church's stain glass window. Plus, this picture lets me show off the 10x optical zoom on my Sony DSC-H10 bridge camera, a feature I'm very content with. (More info on my camera here.)

A few hours before this golden sunset, the sky looked more turbulent and threatening. This pic, in turn, allows me to show off what my wide angle conversion lens can do. It was taken from my living room window, and the wide angle lens allows me to cover nearly the entire Leuven skyline.

Expect to see this skyline coming back in future posts - I'm a pretty lazy amateur photographer.
